Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Pulmonary
About the role
Provides respiratory testing to patients with minimal guidance. Performs pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments. Assesses each patient’s individual age-specific needs and provides individualized age-specific treatments and care. Participates in additional training and/or certification courses to develop expertise and skills to become certified to work in specialized clinical areas. Performs pulmonary-function, lung capacity, diffusion capacity, and blood and oxygen tests for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating pulmonary disorders. Calibrates, cleans, and maintains diagnostic equipment and recognizes when equipment malfunctions. Manages inventory and orders supplies. Communicates effectively with patients to elicit appropriate responses for meaningful data. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and demonstrates good customer service skills.

Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an AMA-approved Respiratory program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- BLS certification required
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have a strong background in respiratory therapy, including experience with pulmonary diagnostics and equipment maintenance. A commitment to ongoing education and professional development is essential.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are crucial. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and a strong understanding of patient care protocols are also necessary.
