About the role

This is a PRN position assisting with occasional Veteran's Clinics. Weekdays only; schedule is flexible and chosen by the employee.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Pulmonary Function Screenings using spirometry equipment to assess lung function and diagnose respiratory conditions
• Provide patient education on preparation for and execution of pulmonary function tests and proper use of respiratory equipment (inhalers, nebulizers) and medications (e.g., albuterol)
• Administer albuterol for post pulmonary function examination
• Perform pre- and post-pulmonary function testing, including measuring lung capacity, spirometry, and other diagnostic evaluations
• Monitor and assess patient progress during treatment; adjust therapies as necessary
• Monitor equipment functionality and patient comfort during treatments
• Communicate effectively with pulmonologists and healthcare team members
• Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during procedures; follow all safety protocols and maintain high standards of care

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and/or Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) preferred
• AARC Office Spirometry Certificate accepted in lieu of other certifications
