Respiratory Therapist Registered

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' respiratory needs
• Develop and evaluate treatment plans
• Perform therapies such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and secretion management
• Manage mechanical ventilators
• Monitor patient status with non‑invasive tools
• Assist with airway management and emergency procedures
• Provide patient and family education on disease management
• Assist in intra‑hospital transport
• Support discharge planning for respiratory‑related needs
• Collaborate with the healthcare team
• Document assessments and treatments
• Adhere to safety and regulatory standards
• Support fiberoptic bronchoscopy procedures
• Support invasive monitoring
• Serve as shift coordinator after one year of employment
• Mentor students and new staff, ensuring quality care and compliance with policies

Qualifications

Graduate from a specialty training program; strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills; experience in acute airway management and ventilator operation preferred.
