Respiratory Therapist (PRN DAYS)

About the role

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides consultation for the facility's respiratory services program. They offer guidance and counsel to the administration and staff regarding planning, policy, development, and priority setting based on evaluations of respiratory service needs. They also provide respiratory therapy consultation to residents, counsel patients, staff, and families about their respiratory therapy needs, make appropriate referrals for continuing care, and review sanitation in compliance with current standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation to the administration and staff regarding planning, policy, development, and priority setting based on initial and on-going evaluations of the respiratory service needs
• Provide respiratory therapy consultation to any resident in the facility in accordance with physician’s orders
• Counsel the patient, staff, and family with regards to the patient’s respiratory therapy needs
• Make appropriate referrals for continuing respiratory care
• Review sanitation in accordance with current standards
• Travel to all facility locations as required
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist by the State of Texas, required
• Current BLS certification, required
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
• 3+ years’ experience, required
• Critical Care or ER experience, preferred
• Experience writing policies and procedures, preferred

• Fluency in English; written and oral communication
