Respiratory Therapist - PRN - Days

About the role

Provides direct patient care in respiratory therapy, following physician orders, and acts as an advanced resource for healthcare teams. Performs assessments, administers treatments, manages oxygen and airway support, and monitors patient responses. Collaborates with physicians and nurses to optimize outcomes and educates patients and families on respiratory conditions and equipment. Ensures accurate documentation and adheres to safety standards, supporting emergency interventions when necessary. Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
• Administer therapies and medications per physician orders
• Manage oxygen therapy and airway support
• Collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal patient care
• Educate patients and families about respiratory health and equipment
• Maintain clinical documentation and safety compliance
• Support emergency respiratory interventions

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• NBRC-certified CRT or RRT credential
• BLS/CPR certification
• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program

Skills

• Preferred experience in acute care, ICU, or emergency settings
• Strong communication skills
