Respiratory Therapist PRN

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides pulmonary care services according to physician orders, departmental policies, and procedures. Administers respiratory therapy treatments, sets up and monitors ventilators, performs airway management, tracheal suctioning, capillary and arterial punctures, and EKGs. Works independently in critical care settings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

- Graduated from an AHA-approved respiratory therapy program or passed the National Board for Respiratory Care exam to obtain CRTT or LRT licenses. - At least one year of previous respiratory experience, including critical and acute care. - Current respiratory license from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. - BLS and COAP certifications within 30 days of hire. - ACLS and PALS certifications due within 30 days of hire.
