Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Nights

About the role

Our hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists (RTs) play a central role in delivering compassionate, excellent treatment throughout the patients' stay.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred), high school transcript/diploma, or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire. (For agency RTs, ACLS must be obtained upon first shift).

Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Pay

• $38.00 per hour, plus shift differentials for nights and weekends.
