Respiratory Therapist Part Time
About the role
Butterworth Hospital is located in the heart of Grand Rapids and is a nationally recognized hospital known for its high standards of patient care and safety. It is part of Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals, which includes several other facilities such as Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, and Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion. The hospital serves as a major tertiary and quaternary referral center for West Michigan and beyond, offering a wide range of advanced medical, surgical, and specialty care services.
Responsibilities
- Applies scientific knowledge and therapy to practical clinical problems of respiratory care
- Performs a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with general and specialized respiratory-related needs
- Evaluates respiratory care needs and makes appropriate recommendations and changes
- Documents treatment effectiveness and accurately documents according to department and legal/regulatory standards
- Performs point of care testing as required
- Completes and documents required education and competencies within designated timeframe
- Maintains competency in areas of accountability
- Accurately and timely completes all necessary documentation and billing
- Facilitates a smooth transition for the patient to appropriate referral services
- Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing, and other medical personnel and students regarding patient needs and respiratory care services
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education
- LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan
- CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA

Pay
Up to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus for external candidates and new RT students graduating RT Program, excluding CHW RT Apprentices
