Respiratory Therapist - Nights

About the Role

A Respiratory Therapist performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures to support patient care in various clinical settings, including ICU and emergency departments.

Responsibilities

• Implement oxygen and gas therapies
• Administer aerosolized medications
• Conduct diagnostic tests (e.g., ABG analysis, pulse oximetry)
• Monitor and manage ventilators
• Perform CPR and assist with critical procedures
• Assess and reassess patient respiratory needs
• Communicate effectively with healthcare staff
• Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and department policies
• Provide age-appropriate care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Deliver service excellence while maintaining patient confidentiality and safety standards
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
• Document patient care accurately
• Engage in ongoing education and training
• Adhere to infection control protocols
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care

Requirements & Qualifications

• Certified as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Active Missouri licensure
• Knowledgeable in respiratory equipment and procedures
• Capable of independent critical decision-making
• Physically capable of handling equipment and patient transfers
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to safety and professional standards
