About the role

The Weekend Program offers a weekend-only shift schedule with enhanced compensation. The Weekend Program is a 12-month commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends in a 12-month period beginning with the first shift worked. Travel allowance is available for eligible employees traveling greater than 75 miles one way.

These roles focus on helping patients recover from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries and improve their physical, emotional, and functional well-being. Involves assessing, planning, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

These roles are responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders. Respiratory therapists provide oxygen therapy, manage ventilators, conduct breathing exercises, and monitor lung function to ensure patients receive optimal respiratory care.

Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing, planning, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities and achieve their rehabilitation goals
  • Evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing and cardiopulmonary disorders
  • Providing oxygen therapy, managing ventilators, conducting breathing exercises, and monitoring lung function to ensure patients receive optimal respiratory care
  • Diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, including face-to-face interactions with patients
  • Designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills

Requirements

  • Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program
  • 12 months of acute/critical care Respiratory Therapy clinical experience
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification
  • Active NBRC Specialty Credential (e.g., RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS) expected within 2 years of hire

Qualifications

  • Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and vocational or technical education
  • Works under moderate supervision
  • Problems are typically of a routine nature but may at times require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures
  • Communicates information that requires some explanation or interpretation

Physical requirements

  • Standing for prolonged periods
  • Frequently traveling and bending/stooping
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs
  • May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease

Pay

$39.96 - $49.18 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
