Respiratory Therapist - WEEKEND PROGRAM

About the role

We are looking for skilled Respiratory Therapists who are passionate about pediatric care to join our compassionate team. This is a full-time position within our Weekend Program, offering a .9 FTE on 1st shift (3 - 12 hour shifts). At least two (2) years of work experience as a licensed RCP (adult and/or pediatrics) is strongly preferred for this DAY shift opening, as established competencies are desired to coordinate closely with interdisciplinary teams and manage complex care plans with a high level of autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in various settings.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and management.
• Apply scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and theory to practical clinical problems.
• Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, consultative, and supportive services for neonatal through adult patients and their families.
• Actively participate in resuscitative and emergent situations.
• Function within professional and hospital standards.

Requirements

• Valid Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification - American Heart Association (AHA) training (or required within 6 months).
• Completion of a respiratory therapy program.

No pediatric work experience is required; at least 2 years of RCP experience is strongly preferred for the Weekend Program Day shift position. A desire to serve children and families is essential. Children's Wisconsin offers a robust orientation process.
