About the role
The Lead Respiratory Therapist delivers competent and compassionate Respiratory Care Services for patients of all age groups. They work cooperatively with all dept. staff, Physicians, Nursing Staff, Ancillary Staff, and other members of the patient care team to maintain standards for professional practices.
Responsibilities
- Deliver competent and compassionate Respiratory Care Services for patients of all age groups.
- Work cooperatively with all dept. staff, Physicians, Nursing Staff, Ancillary Staff, and other members of the patient care team to maintain standards for professional practices.
- Assist the Cardiopulmonary Assistant Manager / Manager in planning, organizing, educating, assessing competence, and supervising other department staff working on their respective shifts.
- Perform and monitor Moderately Complex Testing as related to the daily function and operation of the Blood Gas Laboratory.
- Assist in the on-call staffing rotation.
Requirements
- Holds the CRT / RRT credential from the NBRC.
- Licensed to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Practitioner program.
- 2 years previous experience in the provision of hospital based Respiratory Care Services.
Skills
- Utilize the policies and procedures, clinical practice guidelines, and standards of patient care set forth by the Cardiopulmonary Department and OakBend Medical Center to deliver patient care and services.
- Organize and supervise Respiratory Care Staff.
