About the role
The Respiratory Care Practitioner I (RCP I) at Lake Huron Medical Center performs respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by a physician. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care tailored to individual patient needs, with special attention to age and population-specific requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a physician.
- Assess patients' conditions and develop treatment plans accordingly.
- Implement and document care plans in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- May assume leadership responsibilities during shifts in the absence of a supervisor.
Requirements
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- ACLS certification from the AHA or ARC.
- PALS certification from the AHA.
- Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of acute care experience required.
