About the role

The Respiratory Care Practitioner I (RCP I) at Lake Huron Medical Center performs respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as directed by a physician. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting care tailored to individual patient needs, with special attention to age and population-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a physician.
• Assess patients' conditions and develop treatment plans accordingly.
• Implement and document care plans in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• May assume leadership responsibilities during shifts in the absence of a supervisor.

Requirements

• Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
• ACLS certification from the AHA or ARC.
• PALS certification from the AHA.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of acute care experience required.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
