Respiratory Therapist - Full-Time

Role Overview: The respiratory therapist at the Mayo Store dispenses, monitors, and troubleshoots prescribed respiratory home medical devices, including oxygen concentrators, positive pressure therapy, and suction equipment. They serve as a clinical content expert, communicating with patients, caregivers, and medical providers to ensure safe and effective therapy, and providing education on respiratory equipment. The RT collaborates with medical teams to select appropriate devices, assists with billing documentation, and maintains knowledge of insurance procedures. They may provide after-hours support for durable medical equipment setup and participate in ongoing staff education. Key Responsibilities Dispense and troubleshoot respiratory devices and monitor therapy adherence.Communicate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers regarding device use and safety.Educate patients and staff on respiratory equipment and therapy management.Collaborate with medical teams to optimize home respiratory support.Assist with billing, documentation, and insurance processes.Support after-hours device setup and provide patient follow-up. Qualifications & Skills Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program with CRT certification; registration as an RT required or within one year.Valid state license for respiratory practitioners and a valid driver’s license if applicable.Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills; proficient in medical terminology and basic computer applications.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in a fast-paced environment, and stand for long periods.Preferred experience in healthcare billing, medical business, and inventory management.
