Respiratory Therapist - Full Day Float Pool Day Shift

Role Overview

Provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to patients of all ages. Monitor and wean oxygen and artificial ventilation, analyze arterial blood gases and EKGs, and assist with airway management. Educate patients and healthcare teams on procedures and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy required; bachelor's preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience.
• Current state license and certification as a respiratory therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• American Heart Association BLS certification; ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within specified timeframes.
• Proficiency in computer applications, effective communication, and strong interpersonal skills.

Key Duties

• Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures.
• Document clinical information and educate patients and staff.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and adapt communication to diverse patient populations.
• Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and regulatory standards.

Physical & Environmental Demands

Heavy physical effort, including lifting and moving objects, exposure to blood and body fluids, and working directly with patients in healthcare settings, with occupational risks for communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
