Respiratory Therapist Extern PRN

About the Role

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Care Student (RCS) will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population. Responsibilities include providing respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms and non-invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices. Additional duties involve cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment, as well as restocking supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care under physician orders, adhering to established standards.
• Perform electrocardiograms and non-invasive therapy.
• Clean, disinfect, and store respiratory therapy equipment.
• Restock supplies as needed.
• Perform delegated tasks and data collection taught and verified during coursework.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school of respiratory care or have completed the program and will obtain CRT/RRT credential within 180 days of hire.
• CRT, RRT, or RPFT certification by NBRC within 180 days upon completion of an accredited program.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
