About the role
To deliver respiratory care including pulmonary endoscopy, pulmonary function testing, pulmonary exercise and metabolic testing, upper airway mechanics, discharge planning, patient education, medical gas therapy, medicated aerosol therapy, blood gas sampling, non-invasive monitoring, patient assessments, aerosol therapy, and ventilator management.
Responsibilities
- Staff member will be trained in hyperbaric medicine as an attending inside the multi-place chamber.
- This position has on-call assignments.
Requirements
- Respiratory Therapists must be a graduate of a Commission of Accreditation Respiratory Care (CoARC) approved program.
- Employment is subject to physical exam and a successful test hyperbaric dive.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a two- or four-year AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program, or completion of the requirements to become registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Obtain registry from the NBRC within six (6) months of hire if not already registered.
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Iowa is required.
- Possess a current CPR certification card.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skills
- Greater than one year of recent ICU level experience.
- Experience with an electronic medical record documentation system.
- Currently registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Hyperbaric Medicine experience.
- Certified Hyperbaric Technician (CHT).
- ACLS Certified.
- PALS Certified.
- Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT).
- Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT).
- Experience with an electronic medical record documentation system.

Pay
Yearly Minimum $57,071 for 100% time (competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends)
