Respiratory Therapist/Days

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our Lubbock Heart team. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary care, assist with various procedures, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic and diagnostic pulmonary care for both inpatients and outpatients 24/7.
• Administer therapeutic medical gases, deliver aerosol therapy, administer prescribed medications, and report the effectiveness of therapy to physicians and other healthcare workers.
• Assist with long and short-term continuous ventilation, airway management, pulmonary postural drainage, chest physiotherapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic testing techniques such as Pulmonary Function tests, Bronchoscopies, EKGs, ABGs, Exercise and Nocturnal oximetry studies.
• Perform patient oronasal and/or tracheal suctioning.
• Keep detailed and accurate records of patient therapy and other departmental records.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
• Adhere to unit/area's department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be registered/certified and licensed by the state of Texas in Respiratory Care.
• Registration by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or registry eligibility is required.
• Must be BLS certified and preferred ACLS certification.
• Three to five (3 - 5) years combined clinical experience.

Pay

Schedule

Full-time days shift (0530-1800).

Our facility includes a 24-hour emergency department, four fully equipped OR rooms, four cardiac catheterization labs, 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds across three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms.
