Respiratory Therapist (Adult) | NYP-CUIMC | Full-Time | Day Flex Shift - 3 Day Work Week | 7:00 am - 8:00 pm w-Weekends and Holidays Schedules
About the role
The Respiratory Therapist will perform various treatments, therapies, invasive and non-invasive procedures under the direction of a licensed physician. They will clinically supervise and monitor clinical activities of Respiratory Technicians as described within the licensure law. Additionally, they will assist in the transportation of incubated patients, focusing on maintaining airways and providing adequate ventilation and oxygenation. They will also assess modalities of respiratory therapy and recommend necessary changes.
Responsibilities
- Perform various treatments, therapies, invasive and non-invasive procedures under the direction of a licensed physician.
- Provide clinical supervision and monitoring of Respiratory Technician activities as per licensure laws.
- Assist in the transportation of incubated patients, emphasizing the maintenance of airways and provision of adequate ventilation and oxygenation.
- Assess modalities of respiratory therapy and recommend necessary changes, including improvements appropriate to the delivery of respiratory care.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Applied Science and Respiratory Therapy.
- Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (BCLS).
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of hospital-based experience preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Preferred candidates hold RRT and CRT certifications from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

$59.85-$69.29/Hourly

This is a full-time, 7:00 am - 8:00 pm position, with weekend and holiday coverage, for our campus located at NYP/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, 177 Fort Washington Avenue, New York, NY 10032.
