Respiratory Therapist - 36 hours/week, night shift
$3,000 sign-on bonus for new hires not already working in the BILH system. Reports directly to the Manager of Respiratory Therapy with day-to-day oversight from Respiratory Supervisors.
About the role
The Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory care duties for all age groups, providing direct patient care within their scope of services in accordance with state licensure and the Registration Board of Respiratory Care. Works under physician orders, follows departmental and Beverly Hospital policies, and utilizes critical thinking skills to apply best practices in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care under physician orders and within the scope of services and licensure laws.
- Works collaboratively with providers.
- Reviews current orders in area of responsibility and ensures patients receive treatments as ordered.
- Administers medications via hand-held nebulizer, MDI, and new modes of delivery as established.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy.
- Massachusetts License.
- Certified Respiratory Therapist – Registered Respiratory Therapist (preferred).
- Current BLS certification.
- Experience as a Staff Respiratory Therapist with a focus on critical care (preferred).
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of PCs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to impart specialized clinical and medical information to healthcare team members, including physicians and nurses.
Pay
Base hourly wage range: $39.59 - $58.83. Actual compensation is determined based on factors such as seniority, education, training, relevant experience, certifications, geography, job responsibilities, shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime, and other applicable pay practices.
