About the role
We serve the health care needs of the people of Memphis and the Mid-South. This position involves providing equipment and supplies necessary for optimal patient care, ensuring compliance with Infection Control guidelines, maintaining inventory, and delivering supplies to various departments.
Responsibilities
- Maintains inventory and delivers appropriate equipment/supplies to necessary departments/areas of the hospital.
- Fills inventory supply requisitions and delivers supplies.
- Processes returned items appropriately.
- Understands, applies, and supports departmental/hospital policies, procedures and standards.
- Performs general housekeeping functions.
- Maintains hospital, DNV and other quality control standards with subsequent records of sterilization procedures.
- Ensures safe operation of equipment.
- Maintains equipment and work area.
- Recognizes and reacts appropriately to environmental safety factors.
- Performs quality control checks.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college program.
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association certification.
Qualifications
- Ability to understand moderately complex written materials.
- Ability to communicate verbally with Associates, Physicians, and other outside professionals.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects while maintaining control of workflow.
- Ability to perform technical skills as required with disassembly/re-assembly of equipment/supplies.
- Ability to understand principles and implement basic procedures of infection control and aseptic technique.
- Ability to work without close supervision and exercise initiative and independent judgment once technical training has been completed.
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency or critical situations.
- Ability to communicate verbally with patients and families in a professional manner.
