About the role

This is a field-based, business-development position that requires a candidate with the drive and skill to be a patient advocate and positive representative of VieMed. The role is responsible for identifying and initiating one-on-one dialog with new potential referral sources while maintaining positive relationships with existing ones. The candidate will leverage clinical and sales expertise to design and develop cutting-edge sales strategies that drive VieMed’s disease management program and respiratory products to new market potential within an assigned territory. Approximately 80% or more of time will be spent in the field networking, building relationships, and educating referral sources within hospitals on the benefits of VieMed’s disease management program for patients with Chronic Respiratory Failure.

Key referral sources include Pulmonologists, Hospitalists, Critical Care Physicians, Case Managers, and Social Workers.

Responsibilities

  • Market VieMed’s disease management program to potential and existing referral sources.
  • Develop sales territory action plans and call strategies to maintain ongoing business with current accounts and drive new market potential.
  • Coordinate and provide educational presentations and in-services for healthcare providers.
  • Manage account activity, sales documentation, reports, and territory management.
  • Partner with clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market home respiratory therapy services to all referral sources.
  • Work with office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including meeting third-party payor guidelines for coverage.
  • Provide availability for patient contact and response to patient needs.
  • Maintain performance that meets or exceeds sales quotas.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a resourceful problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be well-connected and have established relationships with Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Hospitalist physicians within the territory (required).
  • Must provide three informal letters of recommendation from Pulmonologists (required).
  • Must have a current, valid, active state driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of successful sales experience in a healthcare setting, including working with physicians, nursing management, discharge planners, case managers, and social workers.
  • Two or more years of demonstrated full life-cycle healthcare sales experience from lead generation to follow-through.
  • Two or more years of experience as a Clinical Liaison, preferably within the LTACH level of care.
  • Previous marketing and/or LTACH marketing experience.
  • Previous clinical/clinical liaison experience preferred, with demonstrated skills in clinical patient assessment.
  • Formal sales training preferred.

Preferred Licensure & Education

  • Respiratory Therapist or Nurse with Adult Critical Care experience and business development/physician marketing experience.
  • Proven sales record in the local Home Medical Equipment market.
  • Clinical licensure preferred (RT, RRT, CRT, RCP, RN, LPN).

Work Environment

This is a field-based role focused on calling on and marketing to existing and potential referral sources, including Pulmonologists, Hospitalists, Critical Care Physicians, Hospitals, Case Managers, and Social Workers.
