About the role
Department-based Respiratory Therapist is expected to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles. He/She will collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care. Assist the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy. May be qualified by training and experience to operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy. Activities may also include other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles.
- Collaborate with Physicians and Nurses in planning and implementing the patient plan of care.
- Aid the Physician with the delivery and direction of Respiratory Therapy.
- Operate and maintain complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy.
- Perform other patient care functions for which he or she is qualified.
Requirements
Completion of the department orientation program as well as unit-specific orientation, as required, is mandatory.
Qualifications
- Education to meet certification, license, or registration requirements: Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License upon hire.
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
Skills
Required skills include knowledge of contemporary Respiratory Therapy principles, ability to collaborate with Physicians and Nurses, and proficiency in operating and maintaining complex ventilatory support systems, monitoring and resuscitation devices, respiratory care procedures and patient assessments, diagnostic procedures and oxygen therapy.

Pay
The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. The base pay range is $35.47 - $57.13 per hour.
