About the role
The Respiratory Care Practitioner Pediatric II position at Methodist Children's Hospital offers a supportive environment with comprehensive benefits and a commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders.
- Administer and monitor various respiratory care modalities.
- Perform emergency care, including artificial ventilation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Collect and analyze arterial blood gases, and evaluate patient responses to therapy.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care plans.
Requirements
- Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board.
- Current RRT or CRT credential from the NBRC.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of employment (preferred).
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
- One year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
Skills
Knowledge of respiratory care practices, ability to operate and set up medical equipment, and strong communication skills are essential.
