Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders.
• Administer and monitor various respiratory care modalities.
• Perform emergency care, including artificial ventilation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases, and evaluate patient responses to therapy.
• Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care plans.

Requirements

• Current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board.
• Current RRT or CRT credential from the NBRC.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of employment (preferred).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• One year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.

Skills

Knowledge of respiratory care practices, ability to operate and set up medical equipment, and strong communication skills are essential.
