Respiratory Care Practitioner II, NICU, Part Time, Day Shift
About the role
Responsible and accountable for the respiratory management, treatment, control and care of patients with respiratory deficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Able to work in 3 of the areas as spelled out under Education/Experience/Training below within PIH Health Hospitals.
- Able to exhibit skills to accomplish computer operation to include mouse and windows application.
- Adept at auscultation of the chest and physical assessment of the patient and monitoring of vital signs.
- Exhibit skills and ability to properly understand and operate electronic monitoring devices.
- Demonstrate good communication skills, verbal and written.
- Able to accept the responsibility of the position.
Requirements
- Licensed RCP by State of California.
- Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Three to Five years experience within PIH preferred.
- Competent in 3 of the following areas within PIH: Intensive Care Unit/Emergency Department, Pulmonary Function Laboratory, Anesthesia Assistant, Hyperbaric Department, Bronchoscopy Assist, Shift Lead, Pulmonary Navigator, New Employee/Student Preceptor.
Qualifications
- Maintain Adult ACLS, BCLS and Pediatric (PALS) certification required.
- If ACLS and PALS card are not present at hire, the employee will obtain within six months of hire.
- Possess and maintain a valid Los Angeles County Fire Card.
- If not present at hire, the employee will have 6 months to obtain.
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) may be required at certain locations.
