Respiratory Care Practitioner (CRT)

About the Role

Provides respiratory therapy care for patients across all age groups and acuity levels, collaborating with healthcare professionals to support optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Performs all forms of respiratory therapy, interprets physician orders, and individualizes patient treatment plans.
• Manages ventilator settings, responds to emergency situations, and conducts bedside lab testing (e.g., ABGs).
• Educates patients and staff on respiratory care and ventilator use.
• Ensures accurate documentation, maintains equipment, and adheres to infection control protocols.
• Participates in patient rounds, collaborates with physicians, and advocates for patient safety.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree or Respiratory Therapy Certificate from an accredited program.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS), with ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications within specified timeframes.
• At least 1+ year of respiratory therapy experience.
• Proficiency in laboratory procedures, quality control, problem-solving, and maintaining professional growth through ongoing education and credential updates.
