About the role
The Respiratory Care Educator ensures respiratory therapists receive the training, competency support, and professional development needed to deliver advanced, evidence-based care in critical care settings. This role leads education initiatives, competency assessments, and clinical support programs while partnering with respiratory leadership to address patient care, operational, and equipment-related challenges.
Responsibilities
- Led education initiatives
- Conducts competency assessments
- Supports clinical support programs
- Collaborates with respiratory leadership to address challenges
- Supports integration of new respiratory technologies
- Collaborates with vendors
- Contributes to policy and protocol development
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives
- Mentorship and performance support to promote clinical excellence, staff growth, and optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree required. Master of Science preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of RRT Critical Care experience required.
- Current ACLS and BLS required.
- Current RRT-ACCS granted by The National Board of Respiratory Care Required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist OR Registered Nurse Licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health.
- Demonstrates commitment to learning and evidence-based practice. Current membership in community/professional/academic organizations desirable.
- Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office.
- Multidisciplinary communication skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science Degree required. Master of Science preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of RRT Critical Care experience required.
