About the role

The Respiratory Care Educator ensures respiratory therapists receive the training, competency support, and professional development needed to deliver advanced, evidence-based care in critical care settings. This role leads education initiatives, competency assessments, and clinical support programs while partnering with respiratory leadership to address patient care, operational, and equipment-related challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Led education initiatives
  • Conducts competency assessments
  • Supports clinical support programs
  • Collaborates with respiratory leadership to address challenges
  • Supports integration of new respiratory technologies
  • Collaborates with vendors
  • Contributes to policy and protocol development
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives
  • Mentorship and performance support to promote clinical excellence, staff growth, and optimal patient outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree required. Master of Science preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of RRT Critical Care experience required.
  • Current ACLS and BLS required.
  • Current RRT-ACCS granted by The National Board of Respiratory Care Required.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist OR Registered Nurse Licensed by the State of Florida Department of Health.
  • Demonstrates commitment to learning and evidence-based practice. Current membership in community/professional/academic organizations desirable.
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office.
  • Multidisciplinary communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree required. Master of Science preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of RRT Critical Care experience required.
