Responsibilities
- Provides a limited variety of therapeutic respiratory care services in accordance with the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act.
- Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact.
- Assists therapists in administering diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services to various patient types, such as IPPB, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, pulse oximetry, sputum collection, specialty gas delivery, arterial blood gas/capillary sampling and analysis, CPR, airway management techniques, manual resuscitation, non-invasive ventilator support, transport support, and pharmaceutical agent delivery.
- Transports equipment and supplies to patient care areas as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently attending an accredited respiratory care program.
- Must provide a copy of the Verification of Student Status form required to obtain their Provisional license.
- Provisional RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner) - Temporary letter to practice issued by OSBMLS until the board meets to issue their Provisional Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
- Communicates effectively in English (verbal/written).
