About the role
The Respiratory Therapist (RT II) functions in a skilled role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence in the practice of respiratory care. The RT II is responsible for the respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education, and communication for all patient populations served. The RT II will coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to promote excellent patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs respiratory assessment, therapeutic treatment, evaluation, testing, education, and communication for all patient populations served.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care and excellent patient experience.
- Maintains compliance with Ohio Respiratory Care Laws, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional and system policies.
Requirements
- Minimum Level of Education: Associate Degree in Applied Science or equivalent with major in Respiratory Care or NBRC approved registry requirements.
- Possession of a valid Ohio Respiratory Care License.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist Credential through NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care).
- BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and NRP (Nationally Registered Paramedic) certifications required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire or based upon course availability.
