Resort Groundskeeper
About the role
As our Resort Groundskeeper, you will perform a variety of landscaping and maintenance duties to ensure our resorts are well-maintained and look presentable. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.
Responsibilities
- Ensure lawns are manicured appropriately
- Regularly treat weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut down and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and perform other lawn care services
- Pick up trash and debris from common areas and streets
- Empty trash in common areas
- Perform maintenance or repair duties
- Ability to use saws, weed eaters, blowers, mowers, drills, or other handheld tools
- Inspect the irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly and repair as needed
- Report all resort maintenance issues and concerns that they may identify while performing their daily duties directly to their manager
- Maintain resort vehicles and equipment
- Ensure the resort is presentable at all times and adheres to IHM Outdoors's curb appeal standards
- Maintain resort pool(s) by testing chemical levels and adjusting appropriately if applicable
- Follow safety procedures while performing duties and operating vehicles
Requirements
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to provide legible written reports
- Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general grounds maintenance techniques
- Proficient skills in operating various handheld tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
- 6 months of previous groundskeeping experience in the resort industry is preferred

- Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
