Resort Gardener
About the Role
We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization at Juniper Preserve in Bend, OR. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
As a Resort Gardener, you will play an essential role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces. Under the direct supervision of the Landscape Manager and Landscape Supervisor, you will perform routine manual labor to support the upkeep, enhancement, and health of our landscapes and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Safe and skilled operation of small battery equipment: Hand Tools, Blowers, Rotary Mowers, and String Trimmers
- Installation and maintenance of plant material
- Ensure equipment and hand tools are thoroughly cleaned and stored at the end of the day
- Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and hand tools
- Wear supplied safety equipment as required: Safety Glasses, Earplugs, Back Support, etc.
- Report equipment problems or failures to the supervisor immediately
- Effectively handle multiple tasks
- Incorporate safe work practices in job performance
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance
- Maintain a professional standard at Juniper Preserve, including appearance, interaction with members, associates, and guests
- Refrain from discussing work-related issues with members and resort guests
- Maintain a positive attitude and flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Landscape Manager
Requirements
- Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily (reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities)
- No special education required
- Must be able to understand oral instructions
- Must be able to comprehend topics of a conceptual nature
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret a variety of job-related instruction manuals
