About the Role
This position involves handling raw materials, operating machinery, and maintaining inventory in a manufacturing environment with a focus on food safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Gather, weigh, and blend materials.
- Maintain supply of raw materials to machines (raw material, colors, etc.).
- Grind material, label regrind, and keep the grinding area organized and clean.
- Assist in purging machines and cleaning magnets in the hopper throat.
- Connect vacuum system to supply material to machines.
- Document movement of materials and complete all required paperwork.
- Gather lot control information for Quality Control.
- Monitor inventory levels and advise inventory control of low volumes.
- Check equipment (blenders, dye feeders, grinders, etc.).
- Unload bulk resin trailers.
- Keep work area clean and maintain proper housekeeping and sanitation.
- Maintain safety in the department.
- Perform other warehousing and related tasks.
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Monitor and verify activities to ensure all products meet food safety and quality standards.
- Comply with all company food safety and quality assurance procedures and document data correctly.
- Ensure all work product contact surfaces are restored to sanitary condition after job completion.
- Report any product or process failures that could impact food safety to Quality and/or Line/Maintenance Supervision.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Forklift experience required.
- 1-2 years of related experience and/or training preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of facility inventory movement for both shipping and inventory control.
- Working knowledge of computer operating systems.

Physical Demands

Work Environment
- Typical manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels; ear protection required.
