Residential Mortgage Loan Processor
About the role
This is a full-time, remote career opportunity. The primary responsibility is to collect, assemble, validate, and submit residential mortgage loan documentation through established systems while supporting Mortgage Loan Officers, customers, and realtors. You will execute assignments of the highest degree of scope and complexity, mentor junior staff, and process complex residential mortgage loan types, including conforming conventional, non-conforming, government, and housing agency loans.
Responsibilities
- Analyze loan documentation for completeness while adhering to investor guidelines and coordinate timely submission to underwriting and closing.
- Review, evaluate, and determine debt-to-income and loan-to-value limitations.
- Research and document the source of large deposits to ensure loans meet investor, product, and regulatory guidelines.
- Serve as the point of contact for customers, resolving questions or concerns, confirming required documentation, and analyzing files for completeness, compliance, and adherence to mortgage regulations and underwriting guidelines.
- Communicate underwriting decisions and issue commitment letters.
- Act as a liaison between Loan Officers and Underwriters, tracking monthly closings to meet sales, customer, and regulatory expectations for loan events.
- Ensure data for Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting is complete and accurate.
- Provide accurate and timely coordination of redisclosures, including loan estimates as necessary.
- Perform other job duties as assigned by the manager.
- Read, understand, and act on compliance programs, regulations, and policies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and escalating risks as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
- 5 or more years of residential mortgage banking experience, including processing/underwriting (Required).
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $22.16 - $36.92, based on geographic location, candidate’s knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials.
This role is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive compensation plan based on individual and company performance.
