Responsibilities
- Develops workable staff schedules in coordination with other services and ensures that treatment plans are communicated through the various shifts.
- Provides input regarding the consumers' care and supervision by participating in the development of treatment plans.
- Assists with coverage on all shifts when needed, or directed; procures relief staff as necessary, ensuring that safety procedures and consumer rights are strictly enforced.
- Manages and regularly monitors, the day-to-day finances of consumers and the group home.
- Completes and turns in all required financial reports.
- Completes all monthly and quarterly reports regarding consumer treatment plans.
- Keeps all consumer working files up-to-date and assists in maintaining the consumer's main files.
- Supervises and monitors completion of menus as specified and in accordance with the CARF and licensing standards.
- Led and participates in active treatment involving the consumers. Participates as a team member for all consumers and makes community and family contacts as necessary or as assigned.
- Supervises and monitors all medications so that the appropriate amounts of medication are available at the group home. Coordinates any medication changes with the appropriate AWARE, Inc. staff.
- Comments on all Incident Reports from the group home and ensures that all other AWARE, Inc. policies and procedures are followed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Talents, skills, and abilities
- Requires a broad knowledge of issues involving those who are developmentally disabled, including:
- Knowledge of procedures which promote greater independence.
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and community resources.
- Knowledge of human resource policies and procedures and techniques to enhance employee performance.
- Requires the interpersonal skills necessary to work comfortably and efficiently with professionals and para-professionals.
- Confidence of. and insight into, therapeutic interactions with consumers to address behavioral and emotional difficulties. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to model appropriate interventions with group home consumers. A high level of both oral and written communication skills is necessary.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field preferred. A minimum of two (2) years in a community based program for the developmentally disabled, education, or human services setting. Administrative experience with regard to direct supervision of staff.
- Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Montana Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record. Must pass a criminal and protective services background check.
