Job Summary
Provides clinical oversight and coordination of nursing services within the Leon residential programs. Supports and guides LPN staff, ensures compliance with nursing and medication management standards, and monitors documentation and treatment planning for accuracy and quality.
Essential/Core Job-specific Duties And Responsibilities

- Supports residential LPNs in daily activities, including nursing care and treatment, assessment, medication administration, admissions/discharges, planning, intervention, documentation, and supervision of residents, in accordance with unit procedures and physician orders.
- Ensures program compliance with all medication management, medication storage, laboratory specimen handling, biomedical waste transfer, hand hygiene, and narcotic control policies and procedures.
- Makes sure that nursing practices are effective, efficient, and safe.
- Trains and educates LPNs on clinical nursing duties at the direction of the Program Manager and ensures completion of required documentation for personnel files.
- Coordinates and monitors the nursing components of treatment plans, ensuring inclusion of relevant assessment findings and patient care needs.
- Delivers and documents direct nursing care as indicated by physician orders and treatment plans.
- Conducts ongoing review and audit of nursing documentation, including MARs, verbal/telephone orders, and annual assessments, using the Clinical Review Checklist to ensure compliance with Agency policy and Joint Commission standards.
- Conducts monthly medication room inspections for Level 2 residential programs, completing and submitting the required inspection form in accordance with Agency policy.
- Performs monthly MAR reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with Agency standards.
- Administers injections and documents accordingly for residents in the Lower Level K unit.
