About the Role

We are a full-service mechanical contractor providing customers in the commercial, residential, and industrial sectors with innovative, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning services, automation and controls, industrial piping, new construction design and installation, and maintenance and replacement services.

This role involves servicing residential and light commercial HVAC duct systems and equipment, including:

  • Packaged units (ground and rooftop)
  • Split system equipment
  • Central station air handlers
  • Various types of air distribution systems
  • Flexible, spiral, and single-wall pipe duct systems
  • Ceiling and wall grilles and diffusers
  • Gas furnaces

Technicians will perform timely service and repairs while maintaining excellent communication between Newcomb and Company and all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Review job packages and coordinate information with assigned field personnel.
  • Perform services for residential and light commercial HVAC installations.
  • Maintain quality workmanship and service standards as set by the company.
  • Work in outdoor weather and temperature extremes as required.
  • Maintain daily communication with field personnel and project managers.
  • Prepare all service-related paperwork (e.g., material pick sheets).
  • Work safely and abide by company safety policies to protect personnel, customers, and company property.
  • Obtain or secure an EPA refrigerant certificate within company guidelines.
  • Service equipment with emphasis on wiring, refrigerant charging, and safety procedures.
  • Complete timesheets daily.
  • Maintain assigned tools and vehicles in top condition.
  • Monitor job sites to ensure a safe workplace and report violations to the safety supervisor.
  • Follow directions from the Residential Service Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet physical job demands.
  • 1+ years of experience in HVAC service.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs. in tight or uneven terrain.
  • Experience climbing ladders and working on aerial lifts.
  • Familiarity with safe operation of hammer drills and similar tools.
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions (outdoors, utility plants, etc.).
