Residential HVAC Service Technician
About the role
Innovative Air is a respected, family-owned home services company serving Westchester County, providing residential heating, cooling, plumbing, insulation, and indoor air quality services. The position is based in White Plains, NY, with relocation assistance available for qualified candidates. This is not an entry-level role — we're looking for an accomplished Residential HVAC Service Technician who wants steady work, strong earning potential, quality customers, and a company that values experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential heating and cooling systems
- Troubleshoot complex HVAC, electrical, control, and airflow issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and detailed system inspections
- Identify system concerns before they become bigger problems
- Explain findings and options clearly to homeowners
- Make appropriate repair, maintenance, and replacement recommendations
- Complete accurate service documentation
- Maintain a clean, professional work environment in customers' homes
- Deliver the level of service that earns repeat business and referrals
Requirements
- 3+ years of residential HVAC service and troubleshooting experience
- Confident working independently on service calls
- Strong diagnostic skills across heating and cooling equipment
- Understands electrical controls, airflow, refrigeration, and system performance
- Communicates comfortably with homeowners
- Takes pride in clean workmanship and professional presentation
- Can recommend solutions without high-pressure sales tactics
- Dependable, organized, and accountable
- Comfortable using tablets and service software
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Qualifications
- Experience with ServiceTitan is a plus (training provided)
- Advanced certifications highly valued
- Extensive diagnostic experience highly valued
- 5+ years in residential service highly valued
Compensation & Benefits
- $35–$50 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and technical capability
