Residential Helper
Assist a Driver in providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for residential customers on a designated route. Safely load waste, carry bags and containers to the vehicle, and direct the Driver during vehicle maneuvers. Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform pre- and post-operation inspections.
Responsibilities
- Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
- Operate packing mechanism and various levers to activate lifting and loading.
- Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip; clean the hopper and truck as needed.
- Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle; report safety issues.
- Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely service.
- Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and adhere to safety standards.
- Clean accidental waste spills while following safety policies.
- Maintain productivity standards to ensure timely customer service.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $17.55 to $24.15 per hour, depending on the locality of hire.
