About the role

This is a field-based role around Southern New Jersey. A fleet vehicle will be provided. The Residential Field Specialist acts as the local on-site program and company representative to residential customers. Responsibilities include installing energy-efficient equipment, conducting energy efficiency (re)audits, pre- and post-installation verifications, and other technical data-gathering activities within a defined territory. The role supports Account Managers in influencing stakeholders to sell and/or install energy efficiency retrofits or new construction, provides technical advice and training, and troubleshoots technical problems.

This is a safety-sensitive position and may include field work (such as work in industrial/commercial locations and customer homes), warehouse work, or requires driving on behalf of the company. Individuals provided a conditional offer of employment must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record. Applicants must hold a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record is an ongoing requirement for continued employment. If applicable, the role requires meeting all DOT qualification requirements and complying with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and residential energy audits, including on-site verifications and electronic review of field data entered into the program database.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement in accordance with client specifications.
  • Provide input and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning, and effectiveness of products.
  • Provide technical expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
  • Travel throughout a defined territory.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience working as an Energy Auditor or in a related role.
  • High school diploma or Associate’s Degree with relevant industry technical certification/training preferred.
  • Current or prior BPI certification.
  • 21 years or older with a clean, valid driver’s license.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship or support.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment checks, including a drug test and motor vehicle report.

Pay

Target compensation range: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour, depending on experience. The full compensation range for this role is $28.20 - $42.20 per hour, determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills, and prior relevant experience.
