Responsibilities
- Safely operate residential collection vehicles (side-loaders, rear-loaders, and automated trucks) to service neighborhoods across Garner
- Efficiently collect solid waste, recyclables, and yard waste according to daily route sheets
- Provide courteous, professional service to residents and uphold route quality standards
- Perform required daily pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure your vehicle is safe and road-ready
- Coordinate closely with helpers, mechanics, and supervisors to keep your route running smoothly and safely
Requirements
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record
- 1+ years of commercial driving experience OR a certificate from an accredited CDL school
- Ability to maneuver in and out of the cab, handle outdoor conditions, and manage physical aspects of residential collection
- Strong commitment to local traffic laws, company safety procedures, and defensive driving
- Professional demeanor with a positive, helpful attitude when interacting with local residents
