About the Role
We are looking for a Residential Care Associate I to join our team at our Fairview Firs RTH in Fairview, Oregon. The Residential Care Associate I will provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients, helping individuals develop appropriate daily living skills and independent activities of daily living to increase or maintain their level of functioning.
Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, they will pass medications and perform delegated medical care as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider. They will transport clients to and from the program as necessary to engage and provide treatment services and maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services. This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services and support for daily living skills and independent activities of daily living
- Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing, encouraging client participation
- Pass medications and perform delegated medical care as prescribed
- Transport clients to and from the program for treatment services
- Maintain compliance with documentation standards for services
Requirements
- Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred
- Dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and helping them complete their activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs)
- Valid driver's license from your state of residence (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire) and a safe driving record
- Ability to pass a DHS criminal background check
- Must be 18 or older at the time of hire (per OAR 309-035-0135)
Physical Demands
- Frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb stairs
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
- Occasionally use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable
- Successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require performing various physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques, including lifting and transferring clients
Training Program
With our MHACBO-accredited training program, you will earn CEUs towards applicable mental health certifications while attending required, paid training and receiving qualified clinical supervision to gain on-the-job experience.

Pay
$21.42 - $22.07 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
Differentials:
- Night Shift (NOC) Differential: An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM (provided at least 2.5 hours of your shift occur within this period)
- Secure Program Differential: An additional $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program
- Bilingual Differential: An additional 5% pay differential for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program
Schedule
Friday through Monday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Part Time, Day)
About the Program
Fairview Firs is a co-ed, 5-bed program serving adults living with a mental illness. The program includes an ADA-accessible unit, private bedrooms for each resident, community areas, kitchen/dining room areas, and enclosed outdoor areas. Fairview Firs is a beautiful older home located in a grove of old growth timber on a large lot filled with lush landscaping.
