About the Role

The Residential Care Associate I will provide caring companionship and assistance with daily tasks to clients at The Beckett Center in Medford, Oregon. This role supports individuals in developing appropriate daily living skills and independent activities of daily living to increase or maintain their level of functioning. Responsibilities include assisting with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing while encouraging client participation. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the associate will pass medications and perform delegated medical care as prescribed by the client’s primary care provider. They will also transport clients to and from the program as necessary to engage and provide treatment services, and maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services. This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services and support to help individuals develop daily living skills and independent activities of daily living.
• Assist with meal preparation, clean-up, and food purchasing, encouraging client participation.
• Pass medications and perform delegated medical care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
• Transport clients to and from the program to engage in treatment services.
• Maintain compliance with documentation standards for services provided.

Requirements

• Caregiving and/or mental health experience (personal or professional) is preferred.
• Dedication to the wellbeing of each resident and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and independent activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Valid driver’s license from your state of residence (or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire), a safe driving record, and ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.
• Must be 18 or older at the time of hire per OAR 309-035-0135.
• Physical ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds. May require occasional use of ladders, squatting/kneeling, and other physical tasks.
• Successful completion of crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, including performing physical, hands-on maneuvers and techniques, and potentially lifting and transferring clients.

Pay

$21.42 - $22.07 per hour, based on experience and credentials. Additional pay differentials include:

• Night Shift (NOC) Differential: An additional $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM (minimum 2.5 hours within this period).
• Secure Program Differential: An additional $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program.
• Bilingual Differential: An additional 5% pay differential for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program.

Schedule

Part-time, swing shift: Sunday through Monday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM.

The Beckett Center is a 14-bed, licensed crisis residential facility serving adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The program offers private rooms (including ADA-accessible bedrooms and baths), multiple community areas, a large kitchen, and secured outdoor space.
