About the Role

The Residential Care Associate II will provide support to the residents according to their individualized treatment plan with a focus on personal care services, environmental intervention, and limited group social and recreational treatment activities as assigned by utilizing an approved evidenced-based group curriculum. They will provide limited treatment services and personal care supports for clients that help them develop appropriate skills to increase or maintain their level of functioning.

The Residential Care Associate II will administer prescribed medications, follow physician’s orders for all medications and/or procedures, document on medical charts and count sheets according to established procedures, and responsibly assist clients with self-administration of medications within agency policies and procedures. They will transport clients to and from the program as necessary to engage and provide treatment services and maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation of services.

This position falls under the AFSCME bargaining unit. Wages, benefits, and working conditions are set in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to residents according to individualized treatment plans, focusing on personal care services and environmental intervention.
• Facilitate limited group social and recreational treatment activities using an approved evidenced-based group curriculum.
• Administer prescribed medications and follow physician’s orders for medications/procedures.
• Document on medical charts and count sheets according to established procedures.
• Assist clients with self-administration of medications within agency policies.
• Transport clients to and from the program as necessary for treatment services.
• Maintain compliance with established productivity standards for documentation.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds, as well as frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing stairs.
• Successfully complete crisis de-escalation and CPR trainings, which require physical, hands-on maneuvers.

Requirements

• Must be eligible for Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) registration through the Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO). Eligibility requires one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science (Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Human Development, or related field);
  • Minimum three (3) years of verifiable behavioral health experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs in a supervised setting; or
  • Equivalent combination of behavioral science education and satisfactory supplemental behavioral health experience/training.
• Must register as a QMHA-R through MHACBO during the first week of employment.
• Driving is an essential function; must provide a valid driver’s license from state of residence or obtain one within 30 days of hire, maintain a safe driving record, and pass a DHS criminal background check.
• Must be 18 or older at the time of hire per OAR 309-035-0135.

• Ability to frequently talk, listen, use hands and fingers, reach, stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, and climb stairs.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to use ladders, squat/kneel, and perform other physical tasks as applicable.
• Eligibility for bilingual pay differential (5% additional pay) if qualified under the CCS Language/Bilingual Program.

Pay

Starting at $22.50 - $23.88 per hour, based on experience and credentials.

Additional pay differentials:

• Night Shift (NOC) Differential: $3.00 per hour for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM (minimum 2.5 hours of shift must occur within this period).
• Secure Program Differential: $2.00 per hour for all hours worked in an eligible CCS secure program.
• Bilingual Differential: 5% additional pay for employees who meet the qualifications of the CCS Language/Bilingual Program.

Schedule

Part-time, night shift: Sunday through Tuesday, 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM.

Madrone Ridge is a secure, co-ed, 8-bed program serving adults living with a mental illness. The facility is a newer building located on the grounds of the Junction City Hospital.
