Residential Care Assistant

Job Summary

The Residential Care Assistant position is located at 403 E. 15th St. at the Therapeutic Diversion Program (TDP). This program serves up to 25 adult clients residing at TDP. The primary purpose of the position is to assist, observe and supervise residents in order to maintain appropriate safety care and guidance with some ability to perform rehabilitative direct client-care work, assisting adult individuals with mental health and/or substance use diagnosis with their daily care needs and routines, to include safety checks, observing clients' self administration of medication, client transportation, pick up/drop offs, cooking, cleaning, support with attending and engaging in programming milieu, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assist, observe and supervise residents in maintaining appropriate safety care and guidance.
• Perform rehabilitative direct client-care work, including assisting with daily care needs and routines.
• Foster, motivate and promote positive interactions with clients.
• Encourage clients' participation in social and developmental activities within the program perimeters.
• Intervene in crisis de-escalation as needed.
• Work independently, under the direction of the supervisor(s), within a team dynamic and structure of the therapeutic environment of care.

Requirements

• Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of experience in client care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Pay

$21.66 an hour, plus an additional 10% crisis stipend. Position may be eligible for an additional shift differential pay.

Schedule

• Regular, predictable attendance is considered an essential requirement for this position.
• May require a flexible work schedule.
