Residential Care Advisor

About the Role
Our Residential Care Advisors provide assistance and training to adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Serious Mental Illness in our residential treatment locations. We’re looking for people who have experience developing and mentoring a team, and who believe in a strengths-based approach, using positive practices to guide everyday activities.
This position works in a 56-bed Personal Care Home located in a neighborhood setting in Wilkinsburg, PA, conveniently located on a bus line. While required daily tasks to ensure the health and well-being of the residents and site are of utmost importance, this role offers many opportunities to engage with residents both on-site and in the community. Staff are encouraged to support residents’ well-being through socialization, developing and encouraging participation in on- and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other activities that promote their social and personal well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and training to adults with intellectual disabilities and/or serious mental illness
- Develop and mentor a team using a strengths-based, positive-practices approach
- Ensure the health and well-being of residents through daily tasks and site maintenance
- Engage with residents both on-site and in the community through socialization and activities
- Support residents’ participation in on- and off-site activities, shopping, trips, and other community outings
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree OR High School Diploma/Equivalent and 1 year of direct care experience
- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to drive an organizational vehicle
- Act 33/34/73 clearances
- Pre-employment drug screen
Schedule
- Friday: midnight to 8am
- Saturday: 4pm to midnight and midnight to Sunday 8am (double shift)
- Sunday: 4pm to midnight
- Tuesday: 4pm to midnight
