Location: Springfield Residential - 2200 Lake Victoria Dr, Springfield, IL 62703 Residential Center - Adult Male and Female population Residential Assistants are responsible for: Monitoring, observing, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients in a substance abuse treatment programProviding motivational and educational support and guidance to assist clients in meeting therapeutic goalsScheduling and coordinating client transportation and assisting with planning client recreational eventsSupporting treatment plans by reporting client observations and contributing to decisions concerning therapy, discipline and privilegesOther duties as assigned Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalency requiredMinimum of 6 months of training or equivalent knowledge of substance abuse treatment theory and practicePrevious work experience with the program specific population (adolescent/adult) in a residential or outpatient setting is preferredMust be able to respectfully interact with substance abuse clients and form a working therapeutic allianceValid driver’s license in state of hire and good driving record required Physical Requirements: Ability to walk or move about facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clientsAbility to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide supportAbility to proofread and check documents and files for accuracy on a regular basisAbility to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises Ability to drive an automobile or van and remain alert to traffic conditions, and to identify and comply with traffic signals and signs Compensation (based on experience): $15.62 - $20.30 per hourStarting rates are determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and relevant skills. Alpharus Health conducts annual performance reviews, with merit increase eligibility determined by employee performance and organizational financial performance.
