Residential Apartment Cleaner/Day Porter

Part-time position, 25 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

About the role

Pfefferle Management is the largest commercial property management provider in Wisconsin, managing over 200 commercial properties and 85 residential complexes across the state. This role involves general cleaning of residential areas, with a focus on:

• Unit Turnover Cleaning: Thoroughly clean and prepare residential units for new tenants after move-out, ensuring each unit meets cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Common Area Cleaning: Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of shared spaces in residential or commercial buildings, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and laundry rooms.

Responsibilities

Unit Turnover Cleaner

• Perform deep cleaning of vacant units, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas.
• Clean appliances, cabinetry (inside and out), light fixtures, baseboards, and windows.
• Remove all trash and leftover items from previous tenants.
• Report any maintenance issues or damage.
• Ensure units are ready on schedule for move-in.
• Follow all safety protocols and cleaning procedures.
• Restock cleaning supplies and notify supervisor of low inventory.

Common Area Cleaner

• Clean and sanitize all common area surfaces, including floors, elevators, walls, railings, and windows.
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and dust furniture and fixtures in public areas.
• Empty trash bins (inside and outside) and replace liners regularly.
• Refill dispensers as needed.
• Report safety hazards, vandalism, or damage to management.
• Clean dumpster areas and sweep garage areas, picking up debris.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in residential or hotel cleaning preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standardized cleaning procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Reliability and commitment to a consistent cleaning schedule.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varied weather.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Technical Requirements

• Ability to use a smartphone and timekeeping app.
• Ability to use basic cleaning equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing and moving to different areas.

Background Check Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have a clean driving record.
