Commercial Cleaner/Day Porter

About the Role

The Custodian is responsible for keeping all areas clean, safe, and well‑maintained. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is dependable, and understands the importance of a clean and welcoming space for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, clean interior glass, and dust throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, lobby, common areas, mix rooms, offices, conference rooms, breakroom, kitchenettes, and other designated spaces.
• Empty trash and restock restroom supplies.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Work with the facilities manager on supply reordering, inventory organization, and specific cleaning needs.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the facilities manager.
• Help maintain facilities consumable inventory and organization.
• Perform cleaning duties on shop floor, warehouse sinks/water fountains, and supply closets.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift or move materials up to 35 lb.
• Previous custodial experience preferred, especially in a commercial facility.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Exercise sound judgment and discretion, including client confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Flexibility to work special events.
• Good command of English and ability to understand oral or written instructions.
• Frequent walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
• Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance.
