Residential and Light Commercial Painter

What You Will Receive

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate preparation and application of exterior and interior finishes in residential and light commercial settings
• Prepare surfaces by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting, or other means
• Mix, match, and blend paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings
• Caulks, putties, cements, or plasters holes and cracks
• Paint using brush, roller, spray gun, or other applicator
• Prepare walls and hang wallpaper or other wall-covering material
• Determine and identify proper materials and quantities for projects
• Evaluate customer requests, price projects, troubleshoot issues, and present work-order descriptions to customers

Requirements

• Current driver’s license and insurance
• Own tools, work vehicle, and good references
• Experience in remodeling or home repair trades
• Independent contractors must carry liability insurance and workers’ compensation
• Smartphone and internet access

Note: Project managers or those specializing primarily in new construction will not be considered.
