Residential and Commercial Painter

Specific List of Responsibilities

• Maintains the company standard while working as a team player and supporter of fellow painters and the operations manager.
• Arrives at the job site at the precise start time and reports to the operations manager for work-specific goals and instructions.
• Respects customer boundaries and space.
• Aids in setting up a neat and organized area for equipment, tools, and products.

Planning and Staging

• Prepares the work area by protecting surfaces with plastic, drop cloths, and tape.
• Ensures expert preparation through sanding, scraping, and priming as necessary for proper adhesion.

Application of Coatings

• Covers painted surfaces to achieve a smooth, opaque, uniform finish.
• Avoids surface imperfections such as cloudiness, spotting, holidays, laps, brush marks, runs, sags, ropiness, or other defects.

Communication and Cleanup

• Organizes the worksite to minimize disturbance to the client's home.
• Addresses client concerns promptly and thoroughly.
• Removes empty cans, rags, rubbish, and other discarded paint materials from the site at the end of each workday.
• Cleans glass and paint-spattered surfaces upon job completion.
• Removes spattered paint by washing and scraping, being careful not to damage adjacent finished surfaces.

Basic Personal Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional appearance: hair combed, clean, and neat, wearing clean painter whites with no more than 10% fabric covered in paint.
• Be punctual for all jobs.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain good will with clients and prospective clients.
• Follow requests from Fresh Coat leaders.
